I've heard that there are a couple people around here who use Cake Walk and Sonar...
Are these the only two music sequencing/digital/virtual audio studios that are accessible? Has anybody gotten anywhere with software like FL studio or Steinberg Cubase?
How usable are Cake Walk and Sonar anyways?
Thanks
oh no there are alot another one is ACID PRO, there are alot of them out there. there are some demos online but it is better to get the software I have music creator three and that is by cakewalk.
ohh cakewalk and sonar is a very advanced recording system I am still trying to figure that darn thing out, there is soo much u can do with it. If ya have anymore questions u can pm me if u would like.
well, both cakewalk and sonar are not fully accessible for the time being. For midi sequencing there is a freelittle alternative which does the job (although imperffectly) with most keyboards, qws or quick windows sequencer. Ask for it at your favorite search engine. Additionally, goldwave has fairly decent support for jaws and it is very complete, i use it for many of my audio editing needs. As for the programs you have mentioned I haven't stuck to any of them. If you wanna buy a more expensive but highly accessible studio software look into recording studio by aph.org. Additionally, I have heard and tried audacity. It is annoying as heck to select and such so I don't really recommend it although people say it is also accessible. if you are into linux, I heard ecasound is supposed to help with midi and virtually all kinds of audio. Any other question either pm me or keep on posting.
Hope that helps
Hey thanks guys, I'll probably get around to contacting you privately to discuss these things (when I have a bit more spare time!).
The main reason I asked about Sonar first is that a piece of equipment I'm picking up is bundled with Sonar's home edition, so I'll probably end up having this software hanging around. Besides that, I am still looking into other software to compliment Sonar, hopefully.
For starters, in Sonar, or any other program, how well can the piano roll be edited (if you're a screen reader user, of course).
I'll look into Goldwave soon here, as I've heard it's quite popular...
Well, if you're a Sonar user, you can always take a looky at JSonar. As far as for strait audio is concerned, Sound Forge is god. Enough said.
